A walk with Cloud

When we got home after lunch I decided to take Cloud for a walk and get my exercise for the day. We went a slightly different route again and this time cut through one estate to get into another. One of the paths between roads goes through this little wooded area. It's really pretty and I love seeing it in different seasons. At the bottom of these steps is this little pond.

The sun was reflected in the water, as well as the trees.

We eventually came out in the High Street where, looking left, you can see some of the Tudor buildings. I love that we have such old buildings in the town.

Turning right we walked past Daisy Chain florists, who are getting ready for Valentines Day.

Past Sackville College. I love this building and it's history. Robert Sackville, Earl of Dorset, left money to build an almshouse and to this day it still provides accommodation for elderly people. It recently celebrated it's 400th anniversary.

We then carried on along this road, out of town and back to our house. That was my 30 minutes of exercise for the day. It wasn't too cold - the temperature got up to around 8C and was quite pleasant. Ready for a cup of tea now.

Lunch at The Broadway (again) ;o)

After having lunch at The Broadway last week, Emily and I decided to go down and watch Jon play pool and have lunch again. Emily was very impressed with the food last week

My nephew Kyle and his girlfriend, Emma also go and play pool at the weekends - as well as Jon's brother Mike. Unfortunately the colour in the photo above was pretty rubbish (my fault - didn't change my white balance setting!) so I converted it to black and white instead.

Hats off to Emma who joins in with playing, not something I've attempted since the time I nearly tore the felt and they suggested I stop playing ;) (admittedly that was before I got married but I've never tried again since).

Time for a break when the food arrived. Yes, I did have a burger and chips - ate the burger (minus the breadroll), the salad and half the chips. The salad is lovely and fresh and very tasty.

While the others were playing I was looking out the window into the street when Kyle pointed out this chap up on the roof. The fact that he was up on the roof wasn't so remarkable but what was pretty scarey was the way he had got there! If you click on the photo you should be able to make out that he had literally tied two ladders together and got them to stay up by tying them somehow through the window! Not sure what Health and Safety would have to say about this set up!!

Friday again

After a quick trip to Sainsbury's this morning, I knew I was going to be home most of the day so I decided to let the kittens out to wander. It doesn't take them long to go out exploring around the house. We kept finding them in different rooms ;) Bellatrix spent some time on top of Cloud's cage (where Tom normally lies)

While Mac was happy to look through to the craft room but kept his distance. They seem quite at home and Tom and Cloud don't seem too bothered by them. Charlie isn't as sure and I think it's going to take a while before he accepts them.

I carried on with what I was doing and made a batch of Pumpkin Cupcakes. These are a favourite in our household (apart from Emily)

And because I know she doesn't like the pumpkin ones, I made a batch of chocolate cupcakes too.

My friend, Pam, was quite happy to sample the cupcakes when she came round for coffee this afternoon :) I did have one myself, but I'm hoping that seeing as I'd only had Special K for breakfast, an orange mid morning and salad with tuna for lunch, it won't affect my eating plan too much. I know I can't deny myself the odd treat otherwise I'd never stick to it so my cupcake was my treat for today and tomorrow is another day.

My morning improved my mood ;)

This morning I decided to take my camera out with me and take some photographs of where I'd been. First stop was our Doctor's Surgery to have an itchy mole checked - it was given the all clear :) Fortunately I was seen promptly today which meant I was still able to meet up with friends for a coffee.

From the Doctor's I headed into town and parked in the car park behind St Swithen's Church. The Church tower can be seen from most parts of East Grinstead.

Thursday is market day and all the stalls are set up in the High Street. There weren't that many people out and about today (and I don't really blame them!)

My destination was Caffe Nero on the other side of the High Street

Where I was meeting up with my friends Carol,Carol, Sarah and Cathy. So good to relax and have a chat - before we knew it it was nearly midday.

Having had a tall cappuccino while I was out, I was quite full when I got home so decided to take Cloud for a walk, before settling in to doing whatever needs to be done at home. We went a slightly different route today which took about 30 minutes. I felt so much better after being out in the fresh air -it blew the cobwebs away. However, it's now coming up to 2 o'clock and I still haven't had my lunch, so time to end off.
