Things are quiet

Emily went back to school on Tuesday but wasn't feeling great when she got home. She was sick Wednesday morning and her glands are swollen again today so she's been off school for the last two days. I think I'll be taking her to the Doctor's tomorrow :(
.
Mum and I went in to Crawley yesterday morning (Hugh and Claire both had the morning off work and were at home with Emily) and Mum got the makeup she needed. We also went to M&S because I can't go to Crawley without coming home with their breaded chicken pieces - a firm favourite in our household :) . Unfortunately I didn't take any photos while we were there because, to be honest, Crawley's not the prettiest place I've ever been to and the gardens are still waiting to wake with spring flowers.
.
Emily wanted me to sit with her in the afternoon and she, Claire and I ended up watching the last of the episodes from the series of ER I'd been watching. I'm now out of ER and need to get the next series. We then started watching House (Season 4) - another series we started watching after everyone else but luckily my friend, Sarah, has been lending us series as we work our way through them. Think we're on the last disc of Season 4 now.
This doesn't have anything to do with anything else, it's just in my craft area, I like it and decided to take a photograph today :)
I spent this morning doing 3 baskets of ironing (groan!!) but at least it's now up to date and I don't have to think about it any more. This afternoon has been spent pottering around, watching Glee and getting my March tag book up and running. Photos are printed out, notes are taken so journaling just has to be written out and we're on our way. My sister, Norma has decided to join in from this month so I'm looking forward to seeing her tag books too.
.
Time to make dinner (salad and chicken for me). I did lose 3.5 lbs following the weight watchers plan last week, I'm having some ups and downs this week but trying to stay on track. Have to stay focused!!
Have a good evening

Bits and bobs

I think this week may just end up being a week of glimpses of my day! It seems to be the way it's turning out so far ;) Washing on the line for the first time this year, I was so happy!! Temps up to 11C - woohoo. I even sat outside and had my lunch - without a jacket/coat and it was warm enough!
A card I made this morning to go with the quilt
The quilt boxed up ready to be wrapped for posting. Fitted perfectly into this box :)
The charger for Emily's computer has stopped working and her battery is flat so she's been hijacking my computer to get her homework done. Fortunately the piece of homework she's nearly completed on her laptop doesn't have to be handed in until next week. Jon has ordered a new charger for her which should be here in the next couple of days.
Mac keeping us company in the craft area. He seems to have taken a liking to this chair.
While I was wandering around snapping photos, I went outside and saw a crocus - another sign of Spring!
We also have these coming through. I can't remember for sure what they are but have a feeling they may be the tulips we had last year? Look like tulip type leaves to me - can you tell I'm not very good in the garden?
Bellatrix prefers the comfort of Tom's spot on the sofa ;)
Dry cleaning picked up this morning. The thing you can see in the bottom left corner is my abs toner. I do 60 sit ups a morning (not that you can tell lol!).
Rearranged some things on the bookcase and put the clock on top. It had been in the kitchen before - now we could do with another clock for the kitchen!
.
Off to Crawley in the morning - Mum needs to pop in to Debenhams and a trip to Marks & Spencers always seems to follow ;). Have a good evening.

Glimpses from today

After shopping today I had time to drop Mum back home, drop my shopping at home, make Hugh's sandwich for work, check Emily was ok (yes, she was off again today but should be back at school tomorrow) and then head out to the hairdressers to have my highlights topped up :)
Back to being blonde :)Spent a good part of this afternoon giving the kitchen a good clean and changing a few bits around to see if I prefer it or not. I love the splash of colour the orchids on the windowsill give, they keep me happy when it's grey outside :) Mum gave me this duck a few years ago and it was sitting on the kitchen window sill where no one saw it. I've moved it to the bay window for now and it may move again. But for now, we'll all be able to see it!
Tulips!! Spring is on it's way (sigh!! happy smile :) )I can't wait!
.
Now I'm off to have a cup of tea and relax

Which photo to use?

I haven't decided which photo to use for my photo a day tag book (yes, I'm still up to date with this project and will be printing out March's tags tomorrow :)
I've wrapped a couple of baby presents I need to post and the quilt is ironed and waiting for it's tissue paper and box then I can post it too. Looking at them like this, I quite like the bottom photo - any comments?
.
It's been a very quiet weekend here. Emily is still not feeling 100% and now has a streaming cold as well as the sore throat :( Might well be another day off school tomorrow if her temp doesn't come down. Also Theresa, if you read this, I hope you're feeling better soon and call me if you need any help.
