10 Pin Bowling layout

I was sitting going through my photos this afternoon and each time I looked at the bowling photos they made me smile. So, I decided to do a quick layout ... Journalling reads: "Today was the first day we actually went out and did something in the summer holidays. We went to Starburger for lunch before heading to Crawley to go 10 Pin Bowling at Hollywood Bowl at Crawley Leisure Park. We were slightly early but were given our lane straight away. It didn’t take Claire long to set up the scoreboard so we could get started. The game seemed to go really quickly and I just beat Hugh at the end with Emily coming third and Claire fourth. We sat chatting in the Bar for quite a while after the game and it was a really enjoyable afternoon. I know I have to make the most of times like this because it won’t be too long before Hugh and Claire don’t want to come with us.

The three circles on the right are supposed to look like bowling balls - can you see where I'm coming from??

PS> The colours haven't come out so well - the background card is actually black not a dark brown!

Happy Nearly 5th Birthday

Today we went to Leah's 5th birthday party. Her birthday isn't until the 15th but she's going down to her grandparents in Wales and her party was today. It was held at Manic Monsters, which I hadn't heard of before. The party was quite well organised and the venue spacious and not too busy. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to take any photos of the children playing (in case other parents complained - how sad that it's got to the stage where you can't even take photos of your own child {or your friend's, when asked} in a public place!) Anyway, I won't get on to that one and instead will share a few photos from the party room where the children had their food. Again, because I haven't got permission from other parents whose children were at the party, I will only post photos of friends and their children.
My friends Carol and Alison (Leah's mum) Carol with daughter Emma Claire and Emma Elliott (Carol's son) & Jake (Alison's son) Jake, Emily and Elliott (with Carol in the background) "boogy" to the children's CD Time for the birthday cake and the birthday girl! Not often Leah is shy Blowing out the candles

We went back to Alison and Marc's after the party for a cup of tea and to watch Leah open her birthday presents. Amazing how quickly children can get though opening so many presents ;o)

10 Pin Bowling

Today we had fun!!
Hugh had a driving lesson from 11 - 12 this morning and when he got back we went to Starburger for lunch. From there it was into Crawley to go 10 Pin Bowling. We don't do this very often (I don't know why not!) and it was one thing that all three children (can I still call the older two that?) were happy to do. We didn't have to wait for our lane, even though we were early. Naturally I took my camera with me to record it all. They had some good songs playing and the girls were singing along and dancing from time to time. Hugh and I were pretty close, score wise, virtually the whole way through the game but I just pipped him at the end. It was good to go out and spend time with all three children together.

Hugh started the game

Emily was doing well

Claire was obviously happy with this one!

Emily got her own back by taking a photo of me

Not often I get a photo of the three together

We stopped off for a drink in the bar afterwards. Very relaxed, just chatting about this, that and everything before coming home again.

Tomorrow the girls and I are going to Leah's 5th birthday party in Edenbridge. Should be fun and the camera will be coming with me again ;o)

A quiet day

Today has been really quiet. I got up around 6.40am and did an hour on the Wii Fit before anyone was up. With the washing on the line and another load in the machine I decided to take a trip out to the Craft Barn for some things I needed. Mum and Claire came with me but, unfortunately, I didn't get what I was hoping to get so only came away with a set of Colorbox chalk inks. Do they not do the individual cats eyes any more? I ended up with colours I hadn't wanted, but had to buy because they were in the set, to get the ones I did want.
This afternoon the sun came out again and I sat out reading my book for a while. This evening has also been lovely and Emily has been out throwing and catching a ball. Seeing as I didn't have any photos to share, I took one of Emily as my picture for today.
