Dad's operation

My Dad had his heart bypass surgery today. After a few hic-cups the operation has finally gone ahead. He is in the recovery ward and still on a respirator at the moment as he comes round from the anaesthetic. I will be phoning again in an hour for an update on his condition but at the moment it is looking good and we are so relieved.
Mum and I kept busy this morning and yes, we did manage another lunch today but we knew Dad was in theatre at the time and he's been on our minds all day. I'm so grateful that in this day and age the Doctors are able to do heart bypasses and that medicine has advanced so much and that Dad is likely to have a better quality of life again.
Mum and I are going up to visit him tomorrow and I know we'll feel better for having seen him.

Sunday

The weekend has gone by so quickly and I can't believe that the girls go back to school/college tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to getting up at 6am again and think, this year, I will have to try and become more organised and have their lunches ready the night before so it's one less thing to worry about in the morning rush!
As some of you will know, my Dad is currently in hospital awaiting a triple heart bypass. His operation had been scheduled for last Friday but had to be cancelled at the last minute because of staff sickness in the recovery ward. It has now been rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon at 2pm and we're praying that it will go ahead and go well.
In the meantime, we are making sure that Mum gets out and about while Dad is in hospital. On Friday we had a family lunch at a favourite restuarant in town. My brother Iain had the day off work and he and his family joined me and my children (Jon was at work) and Mum. This was when Dad was supposed to be in theatre but while we were at the restaurant I got the call from Dad telling me it had been cancelled. Lunch was great regardless and we now have the excuse of going out again on Tuesday (haha!!).
Today my sister Kay, neice Theresa, Theresa's son Tyler and I met up with Mum at Cafe Nero's for a coffee and a chat. Claire joined us a bit later. It was lovely to see Kay and Theresa again as they'd been in Scotland for Christmas and had been sick since they got back. Fortunately they are feeling much better and getting out and about again. I, naturally, took my camera with me and managed to get a few shots of Tyler. He's such a little cutie and is growing so quickly - I can't believe he'll be a year old on the 21st of this month, the time seems to have flown! Anyway, I'll end with this photo of Tyler and hope to update again soon.

Take care

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!! It's been a long time since my last post but today we got broadband back and I'm beginning to feel like we're getting back to normal at last.

We moved out of our old house at the end of October 07 and finally moved into our new house on 13 December but have only just got broadband again. It feels like it's been a long time!! Now I need to catch up with my emails and get back to reading all the blogs I've missed in the past couple of months.

To anyone I owe an email, I'll get to you as soon as I can (inbetween unpacking ;P )

I hope to blog more regularly this year but I guess I'll take it a day at a time to begin with.
