23 Years

23 years ago today Jon and I were married in Highbury Chapel in Hillcrest, South Africa. February is the middle of summer in South Africa. It rained as I arrived at the church (I have a wonderful photo somewhere of me with my dress hitched up, and my brother in law holding an umbrella over my head as I headed into Church) and when we came out there was glorious sunshine. We look so much younger, lol!! I guess that's because we were!

Our marriage has had ups and downs; we've had three wonderful children; moved country a few times and lived in numerous house (I think at the last count it was 15). I gained a step daughter and we have a grandson too. I can't help but wonder what the next 23 years will bring ;o)

Happy Birthday Faith

Today is my niece, Faith's 17th birthday. Louise (her mum) and I were just talking this morning and saying somehow 16 doesn't seem such a big deal but then they hit 17 and it feels more significant. They're no longer Sweet 16 but becoming young adults. We'll be popping round later for tea and birthday cake. Faith has always got on well with both Claire and Emily as she's right in the middle of them (3 years older than Emily and 3 years younger than Claire - give or take a few months). This photo of the three of them was taken on Faith's birthday last year.
