Starting to go Digital??

Today I've been playing with Digital Scrapbooking. I signed up to do Jessica Sprague's Up and Running with Photoshop quite some time ago but then decided I wasn't interested in doing digital layouts. Over the past few weeks I've been playing around a bit and decided it was quite interesting, much quicker, less messy and perhaps, in the long run, cheaper. So, I went back to Up and Running and this afternoon I've been playing - a lot! I'm finding it quite interesting but am still not 100% sure that it'll be the way I go. My main problem with it is printing out the pages. I don't have a printer that could do 12x12 pages so I would either have to go 8.5x11, 8x8 or smaller.
This layout was the assignment from week 1.
Week 2's class layout. And finally, Week 2's layout that we had to design and complete ourselves. I wasn't sure how I would get on with this but I'm quite pleased with the end result. However, when I tried to print it onto photo paper at 8x8, the colours were very wishy washy and I'm not as happy with it any more. (Kit:Promise by Shabby Princess, stamp:Stamped Moments by Katie Pertiet, white paper:White Tighties by Amy Teets and Alphabet:Snow Kissed Christmas by Betsy Tuma which I've changed to fit in with the colours in the paper)
.
If anyone else has recently gone digital, I would be interested to hear what you think of the whole process and whether you're happy with your layouts once they're printed out.
