Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day in the UK so to any Mums reading this blog, I hope you had a happy Mothers Day and that you have been spoilt in some way. We had a fairly quiet morning and then had Mum and Dad, Iain, Louise, Max and Faith round for afternoon tea and cake (supplied by Iain and Louise). Nice to have a little family get together again, it feels like it's been a while.

Today was also Claire and Chris's 1 year anniversary. Claire had made a small scrapbook for Chris with photos taken from throughout the year. They were looking at the scrapbook when I took this photo.

Chris was due to go back to Blackpool this afternoon and because trains weren't running from East Grinstead we took him to Crawley to catch one from Three Bridges. Unfortunately, when we got there we were told that the train had been cancelled and the next one which had been supposed to go to East Croydon and then on to Victoria was going to London Bridge. Chris ended up missing his coach and will now have an extra night with us before travelling home tomorrow afternoon. Claire is a very happy girl today, very different to how she was on the way to the station earlier =o)

Enjoy the rest of your day

Our children are growing up .....

Hugh and Sarah got back safely from Centre Parcs last night. The five days flew by for them but it was good to get them home again. Sarah let me have some photos to download from her camera. This one was taken just before they went out to dinner one night.

Chris arrived safely from Blackpool yesterday afternoon and is spending the weekend with us before travelling back up again on Sunday. He and Claire have been going out a year tomorrow so they went out for dinner tonight to celebrate. I managed to get a few photos when they got home again.

This afternoon, Emily and I went to see Scooby Doo with her friend Emily, her mum Kayley and little brother Adam. The children seemed to enjoyed the performance (need I say more?!)

This evening was the final of Dancing on Ice and Kyran won - Yippee!! He's the one Emily and I were hoping would win and he certainly deserved to. We were also glad that Clare came second. Good results all round.
I'm now off to bed after what feels like a long day. Have a good night

It's Friday

A quick post tonight because it's been a long day. I blitzed both Claire and Hugh's bedrooms while they were out of the house and felt much happier for having done it. Hugh and Sarah get back from Centre Parcs tonight so we'll see if he notices ;o) (be hard not to!!).

I was running late so missed lunch to make sure I got down to Emily's school in time to help with the sewing they're doing. Emily had asked me to walk down so that we could walk home after school but, unfortunately, I'd forgotten I was picking Chris up from the station when I agreed to this. We ended up having a frog march through town and home again to get the car and down to the station to pick him up.

Chris arrived safely but is tired after the journey down from Blackpool. Claire has now gone to work and he's having a nap upstairs. I've no doubt she'll wake him when she gets home at midnight!

Today is Red Nose Day and all the girls had the chance to wear their own clothes to school (though Claire does anyway). Claire and Emily both had to wear something Red - Emily had her red t-shirt, red nose and Red Nose Day button badge.

Have a good evening. Looking forward to my lie in tomorrow morning =o)

Nearly the weekend

Another day of keeping busy, I look forward to the weekend and a lie in =o)

Mum and I went to Caffe Nero while we waited for the shops to open. I had forgotten it was the farmers market today so we had to go and get some olives

The garlic ones are delicious!

The market seems a bit smaller than it used to be. Perhaps it will grow again in the summer.
The Bridge Farm stall sells some of the best sausages I've had. The guy behind the stall was quite happy to pose for a photo when he saw Mum and I taking pictures

See the huge frying pan at the front of the photo which they use to cook the sausages for the baguettes in.

Once we'd finished in town we made our way out to Creative Pastimes so I could discuss the demo that's coming up in a few weeks time. It was an absolutely glorious day today and so nice to be able to drive out there in the sunshine.

After the lovely blue skies we've had recently Jon tells me tonight that we're supposed to be having SNOW on Monday!!! I seriously hope they've got that one wrong, I'm so ready for Spring now!

Have a good evening
