Best Friends

On Monday Emily had Emily round to play. The girls have been friends for most of their school life and although they've had their ups and downs, to date, they still remain best friends.

We did a fun little photo shoot before the girls go back to school next week. Here are a few of the photos I liked.
And finally, this serious one of Emily, just something about it that I like! (She was laughing and happy within seconds of it being taken - not really as sad as she looks!)

You make me SMILE

Today we went out to Creative Pastimes. It was a bit of a family outing with Mum, Louise, Faith, Theresa, Tyler, Emily and myself going. I hadn't been there since Norma was over and it was just good to go and see what they had in stock. I didn't buy a lot for myself but did leave feeling in the mood to do a scrapbook page.

This afternoon I printed off a few of the photos of Tyler from last Saturday and completed a quick layout. Here it is ....

Sorry, the photo is a bit crooked but you get the idea anyway. Here's to doing a few more layouts soon - it's been a while!

Journaling reads: You are growing up so quickly and are such a happy little boy. Nearly 7 months old. 18/08/2007

Have a good evening.

Annoying

We were supposed to have two viewings this morning - one at 11am and one at 11.30am. By 11.15am no one had arrived so I called the agent who then called the mobiles of those concerned. One had had something crop up last night and wasn't going to make it (why not phone the agents to let them know then!!!) and the other had decided our house was slightly out of their price bracket! It annoys me when people don't let you know they're not coming - I could have had a lie in (haha!). At least the house is looking lovely and tidy again and it's a good way to start the week ahead :)
This afternoon, Emily and I went to Leah's 4th birthday party. Alison & I met when Jake and Emily started school together. Leah was born 6 years later and we get invited to her parties and I get to take photos. Today I hadn't checked my camera battery properly and it ran out before the birthday girl blew out the candles :( I did, however, get a few photos before then and reverted to using Mark's camera (Ali's husband) for the remainder of the photos.

Saturday

A quick post with a few photos. We were at a bbq this afternoon at my brother and SIL's house, with some of the family there. My niece, Theresa and her husband Will were there with Tyler who will be 7 months old on Tuesday. I managed to get a few cute photos of him.

Will & Tyler

All for tonight. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Today

A break from the photos from Scotland and a few from today.
I love summer holidays when you have lazy days at home. This morning Emily made a tent out of her bed by putting her various blankets around it. She then climbed on the bottom bunk and read her book, using a torch for light! What fun .... I had to take a couple of photos.
I then went into our room and found Tom asleep on the bed - more photos :)
I think in the last one he was wishing I'd just go away and let him sleep!
This afternoon Emily and I went to Cafe Nero's for afternoon coffee with Mum and Dad. When we got there we bumped in to my friend Carol, who joined us for coffee.
Walking back to the car after we'd been into town, the sky was a really ominous dark grey. I haven't seen it like that for a while and was expecting a heavy downpour.
We never got a drop of rain and an hour later there were blue skies. I'm not complaining that's for sure!
Have a good evening

Entertainment on holiday

A few photos of the entertainment while on holiday.

Rock, paper, scissors - to decide who starts playing Jenga. Dominoes was also on the agenda that evening.
Our wonderful British summer this year! We were going shopping in Ayr - looking for another umbrella or coats.

A game of cards a bit later on.

The girls singing along to Emily's iPod :)

We did get some sunshine while we were away too but I haven't got round to going through those photos yet. More to come

We're back

Back from Scotland and slowly but surely getting back into normal everyday life. Scotland was great fun - even though it did rain the first few days we were there. We spent time meeting up with relatives (I was born in Scotland and our relatives are still there), eating out, relaxing and walking along the shore.
I love the coast in Scotland, the tides go so far out and you're able to walk among the rocks normally covered by the sea and look in the rock pools to see what you can find. There is something about the coastline around Ayr that draws you to it, I could spend hours just sitting watching the sea.

I took about 500 photos and haven't had a chance to go through them all yet. Here are a few from the first evening and the following morning.

This is the village of Dunure where we spent our first night. We stayed at Dunure Inn which is in one of the buildings on the left of the picture, overlooking the harbour.

The harbour

This picture was taken on Friday evening when the tide was in. We decided these rocks looked like a crocodile

This was taken the following morning when the tide was out. You can get an idea of how big the rocks are by looking at the size Emily is in the photo - she's about 5'

Once I've sorted out some more photos I will post again. Have a good evening.

Leaving in the morning

I am supposed to be finishing my packing at the moment as we leave at 6am tomorrow for Scotland. Packing is not something I particualry enjoy and I'm sure I'll forget something. I won't be turning back so it better not be important. I am planning on taking a couple of photography books with me and a couple of novels - I wonder how much reading I'll get done!
A couple of photos from today. Emily was reading at the time.

He knows we're packing!

I won't be writing again until we get home and, hopefully, by then I'll have plenty of photos to share. Have a good week everyone.
