Little Bluetits

The little Bluetits don't seem to mind the snow at all. We've had a few in the tree outside our window. I didn't know if I'd be able to catch them but got lucky :)
The trees are so heavy with snow at the moment, you wonder how the branches are holding it all. A couple of the trees have dumped a load of snow but others are still holding up. It's still snowing

  1. I forgot to say how lucky you are to see the little bluetits. We don't have birds in our garden anymore since our neighbour's two cats arrived this past year. I miss my little robins and blackbirds, the sparrows and thrushes etc. xxx

  2. We have birds similar to Great Tits here - they call them Chickadees - I think they may even be the same...I'm not sure. Anyway, I am always so surprised that they stay here all winter - even when it's -50c They are such little birds you would think they wouldn't survive the cold!!! I have 6 bird feeders and a bird table and they are all emptied within about 4 days - the Chickadees, some Blue Jays and a couple of woodpeckers. The odd magpie and crow stop by too. All the other birds leave for the Winter. They have more sense ;)

Your snow pictures today have been lovely - despite living in an ice box for so long, I never tire of snowy pictures!!

  3. Great shots. I meant to put out bird feed yesterday but forgot, so now I feel very guilty!!

  4. I'm always hoping to get a shot like your second one, but the birds always seem to scatter if I show up with my camera. Lovely shot!
