Snow Day

Emily's school is closed for a Snow Day today. It's the first time any of my children have had a Snow day and, as you can imagine, she is really excited. To give her her due, she had been dressed and ready to go when it was announced on the local radio that the school was closed. We've had about 3" so far and it's just starting to come down again. I know for a lot of the people who read this, 3" isn't that much snow but it is quite exciting for us ;o) It'll be interesting to see how much we get today - on top of what's already lying. The children in our road have already been out sledding and I'm sure there will be snowmen on the green later on. All good fun and a good excuse for a blobby day! This was Claire and her friend, Tom, before they walked into town for lunch yesterday. The snow had only just started and wasn't lying at that stage. It was still cold though!
Taken this morning at about 7am - still quite dark out.
Same scene taken around 9am and from a slightly different angle.
Looking from our front door
Looking towards the fields from our back door.
Have a lovely day
xx

  1. Hi Rhona.I'm back online again. We had the big boss here and hopefully all is now well again. It has been very frustrating these last few weeks. Saw on Sky News you were in for heavy snow. Kyle phoned yesterday as it was just starting. It reminds me of last April!!! Happy memories :)

  2. This is the most snow we have had for a long, long time.I thought it was never going to stop today. The poor blackbird who frequents our garden had to dig deep to get the food I put out. Norma, I too have happy memories of the snow last April when you were here to share it. Good to have you on Internet again.
    Nice photographs again Rhona. xxx

  3. I immediately thought of you (and your comment on my blog) this morning when I heard about all the snow in London. Wondered if you were getting it too! We finally had a sunny day in the 30's. I went out and played with my camera for a while. Back to frigid weather for the rest of the week!
